MTR’s services use the healing and therapeutic power of horses to improve the physical health and well-being of children and adults with physical, emotional and developmental disabilities.

Our participants also include veterans and wounded service personnel dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, and amputation.

MTR uses the healing and therapeutic power of horses to improve the balance, strength, muscle tone, self-image, self-confidence, and quality of life for individuals with special needs.

Adaptive/Therapeutic Riding

This program is designed to teach individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional challenges the skills necessary to ride a horse. Instruction is provided by PATH Intl. certified instructors. The minimum age to enroll in our Therapeutic Riding program is 5 years old.

Speech (SLP), Occupational (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT)

Private occupational, physical, or speech therapy sessions with licensed therapists who are specially trained to incorporate the use of equine movement to facilitate a specific treatment outcome. The minimum age to enroll in our PT, OT, and Speech services is 2 years old.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is an interactive process in which a licensed mental health professional working with a credentialed equine professional addresses mental health and behavioral health goals through interacting with horses. We partner with TenTen Counseling to provide this service. The minimum age to enroll in our EAP program is 8 years old.

Equine Services for Heroes

Provided at no cost to veterans, active duty military personnel, and first responders who have been injured in the line of duty, participants work with our specially trained horses, staff, and volunteers to gain emotional, cognitive, social and physical benefits from our equine assisted activity and therapy programs offered on the farm.

Summer Camps

MTR offers Summer Camp for participants to enjoy fun in the sun while gaining riding and horsemanship skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Education and Mentoring

As a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int.) Premier Accredited Center, we are proud to offer PATH approved workshops in addition to those we have developed for continuing education of EAAT professional and those seeking the various PATH credentials and mentorship towards certification.

Riding for Wellness

A program that expands offerings to anyone in the community, over the age of 5 years old, who is looking to improve their quality of life or engage in a health and wellness activity that includes horseback riding and/or unmounted activities like in our Equine Learning program. Participants may be looking to improve already existing riding skill or learn a new sport in a safe and accepting environment, or to find an outlet for stress, improved physical, mental and/or emotional wellbeing, improved assertiveness skills and improved self-confidence.
