WE PROVIDE A SANCTUARY FOR HEALING, LEARNING AND LIVING DREAMS, BY FORGING LIFE-CHANGING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE AND HORSES.

OUR RIDERS ARE ALWAYS OUR PRIMARY FOCUS.

HIGHEST ATTAINABLE QUALITY – Affects every aspect of our activities: riders, horses, training, safety, volunteers, environment, facilities and the therapeutic experience.

STEWARDSHIP – Making the best use and caring for all of our resources while both sustaining quality and growing our programs.

ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP – Providing proactive leadership tempered with sound judgment, maintaining clear priorities, and controlling growth without compromising quality.

STRATEGIC GOALS

(1) Provide the highest attainable quality of therapeutic services to our riders and be recognized as a leader in this growing field

  • Establish MTR as a premier equine-based therapy program in the U.S.; assist NAHRA to the extent possible while consistent with MTR goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement new therapeutic services that will expand the effectiveness of our offerings while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Recognize the key role volunteers play in the success of our organization and nurture their growth and fulfillment

(2) Strengthen our service delivery, our administrative and financial management, and our control systems

  • Implement an effective program to train and develop staff, and volunteers, at all levels; provide for gratifying career growth within MTR
  • Develop and maintain a strong and committed Governance body that will take an proactive role in philanthropic development and oversight efforts
  • Maintain a strong financial condition while sustaining growth initiatives through focused development programs and sound stewardship of all resources

(3) Maximize the benefit of our services by offering them to as many people as we are able to reach and effectively support

  • Recognize MTR is enabled by the community, for the community’s needs
  • Build and maintain a permanent facility to provide an safe and effective environment for learning and healing - primarily as a sanctuary for our riders
  • Consider implementation of complementary program offerings to meet related community needs, while maintaining a clear focus on the needs of our riders
